The Beadazelled Collection

How did the Beadazelled Collection come into being ? The answer to this is the story of my love of and passion for jewelry, which stems back to my childhood.

When I was about 10 years old, I somehow developed an interest in fine antique jewelry. I was fortunate that I was able to purchase some lovely pieces. I suppose that for a 10-year-old it was quite a precocious interest. It certainly is where my love for and appreciate of jewelry began.

In later years, I developed an appreciation for quality vintage costume jewelry as well. This led me to begin purchasing and selling it directly to other dealers as well as online. I developed my own Web site, Tomorrow’s Treasures, which took me an entire summer to create, but it was well worth the challenge. When the market for quality vintage costume pieces started to decline (I blame some of this on eBay), I decided it was time to move on. (I should note that while in Los Angeles, I managed a small retail jewelry store while attending the Gemological Institute of American in Santa Monica.)

When I returned to the East Coast, I started developing an interest in beaded jewelry. This was, in part, due to my mother’s developing a business, which started as a hobby, which grew quite rapidly. I don’t think that she intended for this to happen, but people loved her necklaces and they would purchase them off of her neck, literally. In any case, I worked for my mother for some time helping with designs and creating necklaces. Not long after that, I started purchasing my own beads and creating my own designs. 
That’s the beginning of the story of the Beadzelled Collection.
